These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Stepping Stones Therapy website and services. By using our website or booking a session, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Stepping Stones Therapy website (steppingstonestherapy.au) or engaging our counselling services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.


These terms apply to all visitors, clients, and others who access or use our website or services. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. About Our Services

Stepping Stones Therapy provides professional counselling and psychotherapy services delivered by Victoria Hyne-Jones, a PACFA Registered Clinical Counsellor and NSW Government Victim Services Approved Counsellor.


Our services include individual counselling, trauma support, anxiety and depression counselling, grief support, relationship counselling, and self-esteem work. Services are provided in person at The Lotus Centre, Brookvale NSW, and may also be available via telehealth.

3. Not a Crisis Service

Important: Stepping Stones Therapy is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact:

    4. Website Use

    You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:


  • Use the website in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or systems.
  • Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the website.
  • Use the website to transmit harmful, offensive, or objectionable content.

  • We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to our website at our discretion.

    5. Appointments and Cancellations

    Booking: Appointments can be made via our website contact form, by phone, or by email. Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of a confirmation from us.


    Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice, or failure to attend without notice, may incur a cancellation fee of up to the full session fee.


    Late arrivals: If you arrive late to a session, the session will still end at the scheduled time and the full fee will apply.


    We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments in exceptional circumstances, and will provide as much notice as possible.

    6. Fees and Payment

    Our current session fees are displayed on our website and may be updated from time to time. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.


    We accept payment by bank transfer and other methods as advised. Receipts are provided upon request and may be used for private health insurance claims where applicable.


    Medicare rebates may be available for clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from their GP. Please discuss this with us prior to your appointment.

    7. Confidentiality

    All information shared in counselling sessions is treated as strictly confidential. We will not disclose your personal or health information to third parties without your consent, except in the following circumstances:


  • Where we are required by law (e.g. mandatory reporting of child abuse or risk of serious harm).
  • Where there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others.
  • For the purposes of clinical supervision (de-identified where possible).

    8. Intellectual Property

    All content on this website — including text, images, graphics, logos, and design — is the property of Stepping Stones Therapy or its content suppliers and is protected by Australian and international copyright laws.


    You may view and print content from this website for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written consent.

    9. Disclaimer of Warranties

    The information on this website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. It is not a substitute for professional counselling or treatment.
